What we do

As well as sharing tools and resources, we support charities, NGOs, UN agencies and governments who are working towards achieving important public interest outcomes.

Understand

With expertise in primary and secondary research, we use a range of research methods to inform and measure change interventions. We begin each project by landscaping the relevant environment (geographic, regional, sectoral etc) to inform not only the context in which our interventions will exist, but to design and develop strategies to shift norms towards achievable, realistic and sustainable impact.

Depending on the project, our research phase might involve:

  • Public opinion research (quantitative and qualitative) including design, delivery, analysis and reporting
  • Media analysis (news and social) looking at conversations, narratives, volume, share of voice, influencers and influencer engagement
  • Audience segmentation analysis understanding who our audiences are, how they feel, what drives them, and how we might want to move them
  • Literature reviews drawing from cognitive linguistics, behavioural science, neuroscience, psychology and other relevant fields to inform strategic direction, creative activation and storytelling
  • Resource, policy and systems mapping
  • Open-source analysis and other desk research

Once we understand our environment, we begin to map change strategies for interventions designed to shift norms, policies, funding priorities and behaviours in support of public interest outcomes.

Learn

We design custom Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning (MEL) systems for projects to monitor and track results, as well as innovative learning methodologies to inform implementation and project adaptation. We continually learn and adapt, using insights from every project to build towards greater effectiveness and efficiency in others. We also work with organisations to build capacity in MEL, data collection, analysis and reporting.

Our focus is on delivering fair, robust, efficient and accessible evaluation solutions to include:

  • Impact mapping and evaluation planning
  • Data collection using innovative methods as well as traditional quantitative and qualitative approaches
  • Data analysis and reporting across activity-based metrics (measures of performance) and impact-based metrics (measures of effect)
  • Formative and summative evaluations including adaptive management, optimisation and learning methodologies
  • Training in research methods and MEL systems to build sustainable organisational capacity
